Welcome to the only privately owned historical Castle in Georgia. Once a fortress before the Mongol invasions, it was from the 16th century the residence of the Persian Shah Administrator for eastern Georgia. It also hosted a small nunnery for some time. During the Communist period, it was transformed into communal apartments for up to 110 individuals. It has returned to its former glory, and a limited number of its rooms are made available for some happy few, every year. We are happy to welcome you and hope you will enjoy your stay. Please note: - To reach the Castle, the Outdoor Pool and the Garden of the Castle you have to climb stairs. Area was built during the Medieval Ages and located on the rock. Unfortunately, we are not disability/age friendly due to the nature of the building. - Our small (4x6 meters and 2 meters deep) Open Pool is a transformed an ancient cisterns located in the garden of the Castle with breathtaking view on the Old Tbilisi. - All our rooms are strictly non smoking rooms. You can smoke only in the Garden or in the terraces. Violation of this internal rule is GEL500.
