Stylish, self-contained studio apartment in a modern block in the centre of Sydney's, vibrant Haymarket. The Sydney Lightrail and Capitol Theatre are steps away on one side and bustling Chinatown & Paddy’s Market are on the other. This property is a few minutes’ walk to Central Station and surrounded by shopping, entertainment and dining options, including ‘Thai Town’.

The Space:
This modern studio is on a secure upper floor. It contains one queen size bed & side tables, a sofa & console table, TV, wardrobe, kitchenette with fridge, microwave, toaster & kettle, iron & ironing board and full bathroom with bath. It’s carpeted and very comfortable with air conditioning and a small balcony offering fresh air & a lively city outlook, including the bright lights of the Capitol Theatre by night.
This apartment is reached via lift only accessible to guests with security access to this floor.
Washing machines and dryers are in the basement of the building . Washers & dryers use $10 coins or tokens.

Summary: A few positives to start. The photos in the listing were very accurate, and the location is great in a very secure building on a high floor away from street noise. This is an old serviced apartment that has been converted into an short-term-rental without the servicing. This means that you only get two towels in total for your stay regardless of duration. The bed is unfortunately two single beds pushed together which means there is an uncomfortable bump in the middle (this can be seen in the photos in the listing). And there was some type of dirty marks on the bedhead/wall that I had to wipe off. This accommodation is run by a large company that only cares about the dollars. This was evident when we enquired about an early checkin and were told it would be an extra $60. We declined. We were then told we would be called if the accommodation would be ready early. We were never called despite the room being ready. We knew this because the access card and room were available earlier than advised. The accommodation company also contacted us via email outside of the Stayz platform, but never replied to our emails. The communications from the accommodation company were also worded like it is someone’s home with great neighbors, but no one lives in the apartment and the entire floor is all short term rentals. The accommodation company also deliberately write the address in a format that Stayz cannot provide a map. Lastly, the bathroom is tiny and a near death trap with an awkward shower over a bath with the usual poorly painted over rust stains and re-siliconed over mold you see in hotels. Despite the listing, there is no deck nor patio. It’s also very strange that the company cannot spell “Accomadation” correctly. Despite this negative sounding review, we would book this place again, but were just genuinely disappointed with the lack of personal hospitality that you expect from a Stayz booking. It’s the perfect example of large company ruining the short-term-rental experience.
