This unique property is available for rent for the very first time in 2022. Purchased in November 2021, this home has been transformed into an inviting vacation retreat with a calming upscale coastal style. It includes a freshly painted interior and brand-new coastal furniture.
Imagine yourself relaxing as you look at views of Long Island Sound from nearly every room in this home. If being on vacation means you have time to try new recipes, you’ll enjoy the large kitchen with its Jade gas cook center, mahogany island, coffee/wet bar, and adjacent dining room overlooking the ocean and anchored by a stunning stone gas fireplace.
Dine in with great views of the Sound, or take the party outside to the expansive, elevated deck with plenty of furniture and a gazebo. A sweeping back lawn has Adirondack and other chairs, perfect for sitting with coffee or cocktails and conversation while taking in the stunning water view and gorgeous sunsets.
When it’s finally time to turn in, you’ll want to retreat to the romantic master bedroom, with its king bed, full bath, vessel tub, and private balcony overlooking Long Island Sound.
Your other guests will enjoy the comfort of a queen bedroom upstairs, and one queen downstairs, as well as a room with cozy twin beds on the second floor. All second-floor bedrooms have ocean views.
Best of all, White Sand Beach is just a short walk or drive from the house. Venture further along the beach to Griswold Point, where the mouth of the Connecticut River meets Long Island Sound. Look across at stunning views of Old Saybrook and Fenwick, once the home of actress Katharine Hepburn. From the house, walk down Brighton Road and in just a minute or so, you’ll be at land’s end, as you walk along the coast with expansive water views.

Old Lyme is located halfway between Boston and New York. It is right off Rte. 95 and is an easy drive from NYC (110 miles, 2 hours from Midtown Manhattan), (Boston, 120 miles, 2 hours from downtown) Hartford (45 miles, 45 minutes), Springfield (70 miles, one hour), and Providence (70 miles, one hour). This beautiful, historic New England town offers beaches, marshlands, nature trails, kayaking, and many art galleries. It’s a world away, and yet it is close to everything.
Old Saybrook, just a 10-minute drive away, offers great dining, shopping, seafood markets, a bakery, cheese shop, coffee shops, and more. Mystic, CT offers unique shopping, dining, Mystic Seaport and Mystic Aquarium. Nearby Essex, CT is a charming New England town that was named one of the Best 100 Small Towns in America. It offers a blend of history, art, shopping, restaurants, and the Essex Steam Train. Harkness Memorial State Park in nearby Waterford, CT is a gorgeous park with sweeping lawns overlooking Long Island Sound.
Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos are a short drive away (28 miles, 40 minutes), as are other shoreline towns worth visiting – Madison, CT (which is home to the beautiful Hammonasset Beach State Park), as well as Westerly, Watch Hill, Narragansett, and Newport, Rhode Island.
Ferry service to Orient Point, Long Island and Block Island, RI is just 20 minutes away at the New London, CT Ferry.
