The Chamartín district is located in the northern part of the city. This upscale neighborhood is ideal for newcomers. Chamartín takes its name from Chamartín Market, a 1,600-square meter indoor arcade that is perfect for gourmands. Visitors can shop for fresh fish, meat and produce along with pâtés and other specialty food items. Given the proximity to the market, it's no wonder that Chamartín has wonderful restaurants and imaginative bars and cafes. The area is also home to the National Auditorium of Music, home of the national orchestra.
