Step back in time and experience the gorgeous character of our 1950s family crib.
Whether for a family holiday or get-away with friends the house and large section in the heart of Waikouaiti will surely be part of the beautiful memories you take with you.
Nothing luxury or fancy just basic comforts for good times. No modern kitchen, no high pressure shower, just a cute wee place on a big section near an amazing beach in a friendly community.
Please leave the bach clean, including doing the dishes. Thank you.
Please note the bach is cheap and cheerful - do not expect anything luxury - it really is just the basics with interesting quirks.
The landscaping is an ongoing project of improvement, the garden is not perfect but the back yard is a great sunny place to be. The fence is currently under repair so not fully fenced at the moment, just a small gap. Help yourself to lemons, strawberries, raspberries or apples if the plants are fruiting 🤗
The beach is a 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk. Golden Sandy Beach, safe, gentle waves perfect for swimming, body boarding or surfing. You may even spot a seal on the beach!
There are several beautiful walks nearby, and the villages of shag point and Karitane are nice day trips to visit too.
Things to note:
There is a train line nearby so be careful with children, and depending the nights you stay you may or may not hear the train go by.
The cooling mechanism on the heat pump is out of order - still warms well, the house is nice and cosy. The sun room is a fantastic place to be on windy, cooler days.
There is no internet or TV, enjoy a break from all that while you are here.
Dry dogs are permitted inside, but not on the furniture. If pet hair is found on the furniture, an extra cleaning fee will be charged. Please keep wet dogs outside thank you.
Our old Bach is far from perfect but is cute, warm, homely place to enjoy your time away.
