There once was an old 9-metre Kauri boat... It sat on site 24 at Byron's Resort for years. This boat is now the outdoor shower( BOW) and the outdoor kitchen (STERN).
The new boat shed, made from mostly reused materials, hosts a blue velvet sofa. It is a very cool, relaxed chill-out room with recycled windows and doors looking out onto the courtyard, which is paved with wooden slabs from an electrical sub station.
The sleeping area is located beside the Boat Shed in a late 70s Hallmark caravan, with its own wee lounge and kitchen with TV.
There are also shower/toilet blocks and full cooking facilities with outdoor pool and squash courts available to use. The refreshing cold-water shower is perfect for rinsing off after a day at the beach , And in the outdoor shower is a cassette toilet in case you're caught short in the night.
The Dry Dock at Byron's Resort will enable you to wind down in a little world of paradise. Situated at Otaki Beach, nestled in a private corner, the Dry Dock is a unique relaxing experience.
