Summary: Staff, joe was rude, belligerent, confrontationalthreatening to physically throw me out because it was 7:10 PM. And I wanted to know why he closed the lobby to guest. We , my two brothers their wives and mine had just returned from a wedding anniversary dinner in a blizzard like snow storm, and planned to gather by the fireplace in the lobby but the lights were very dim or turned out. It was very dark in the lobby, but sitting next to the fireplace was a woman the same woman that was sitting behind the registration counter when I arrived , polishing her fingernails when I inquired with him why she was able to sit there and we weren’t. He became very very belligerent and threatened at that time to throw me out if I didn’t shut up and go back to my room and he reassured me that he had the authority to do so.
The woman then got out of the chair from in front of the fireplace, started walking towards me and said because we had too much to drink, which is not true we each had one cocktail before dinner at supper club and one in our hand when we were coming back to the lobby to enjoy conversation that’s when Joe said he closed the lobby because before we left for the supper club, we made a big mess in the lobby which is untrue, never left even a napkin or anything. All we did was my brother moved one table about 2 feet and didn’t return it to Its regular position we registered and paid for three rooms expecting all of the normal amenities . We are in our 70s and 80s.

Summary: It all started out great! My wife & I arrived alittle earlier in the afternoon so we decided to wait in the lobby by the fireplace for two of my brothers and their wives. They arrived around 4ish. We decided to have one cocktail as our dinner reservation wasn't until 5:45pm (Ropke's, Fantastic). We relaxed, shared a few stories then left for dinner. The manager (Joe) told us the pool and lobby is open until 10PM. While eating, we all duscussed returning to the hotel and sit in the lobby by the fireplace. It was a nice idea as we were in the middle of a snowstorm. When we returned to the hotel around 7PM, my wife was the first one to the lobby. I stopped in our room to make a cocktail. I was headed to the lobby and met her as she was on her way back to the room. She was told by the manager the lobby was closed and all the light were off. My wife noticed his girl friend (or wife) was sitting in front of the fireplace reading a book. My brother tried to speak to Joe to find out why the lo by was closed to us but his lady could sit there and, they promoted the lobby and fireplace in the promotional material but now, we weren't allowed to use it. My room cost $181.00+- with tax and we're being told we can't use the general lobby facility. We were also told if we didn't like it he would have us remived. At that moment, Joe's lady interjected that we left the lobby in a mess earlier. NOT TRUE, we only moved two chairs and a small table so all six of us could sit together.
