Positive: The only thing I can genuinely thank the hosts for is that the cottage was very warm inside, which added a bit of comfort and coziness despite the other issues.

Negative: We chose this place because we were travelling with a large dog. I am not sure who designed or planned this accommodation concept, but it seems there is very little understanding of how hotels or holiday properties are supposed to function. We arrived after dark, and only the parking area was lit. Finding the cottages and locating the correct numbers meant walking through complete darkness and mud. The phone number listed on Booking.com did not work, so we had to ask people we met if they had any contact for the reception. Once we finally reached someone, communication was still difficult, as the girl on the phone did not speak English — only Russian. When we entered the cottage, another problem appeared. The listing says that the cottage has a private terrace, which is extremely important for us because we need a safe outdoor space for our dog. However, the terrace turned out to be shared with the neighboring cottage, meaning it is not private at all and completely unsuitable for guests with pets. We could not let our dog outside safely — if the people (or even children) from the other cottage came out onto the terrace, it could have caused a serious problem. For this reason alone the terrace was unusable, and the accommodation did not match the description. I strongly recommend that the owners reconsider this setup. Not only dogs, but even children might not be appreciated wandering right outside someone else’s windows. Each cottage should have its own separate, private terrace to avoid safety, comfort and privacy issues. Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing, and I hope the owners will make improvements for future guests.
