Fan Tamaill is a lovely thatched cottage situated 2.8 miles from the village of Lettermacaward in County Donegal. This single-storey cottage sleeps six people in three bedrooms, consisting of one double with an en-suite walk-in shower leading to a twin bedroom and there's also a separate double bedroom available. The cottage also has a bathroom, a kitchen, a sitting room with dining area and open fire and a sun room with dining area. Outside there's ample off road parking, a side and rear lawned garden with a stream and a front patio. Fan Tamaill is a charming County Donegal base for exploring the area.

Summary: The property itself is just what we expected- old cottage style, quaint, well situated in quiet surroundings yet close enough to Dungloe for essential needs. It was comfortable and had just about anything you could ever need in the kitchen. Certain parts of the interior could do with some attention, particularly the main bathroom. On arrival we had to clean the kitchen area, the fridge, microwave and cutlery drawer. Throughout the stay the fridge caused a bad smell in the kitchen when it’s door was opened, and it was either not cold enough or too cold. Overall though the cottage is in a great spot to tour that part of Donegal and spend time on it’s beautiful beaches. On balance we had a lovely break here, but I think it is fair to say that parts of the cottage just need a bit of tlc to make it even better.
