The border crossing to the Czech Republic is also just a few minutes' walk away. There are many interesting possibilities for your stay in the Erzgebirge around the village of Bärenstein. Countless hiking trails, museums and inns provide the right pastime. You can experience history in show mines, on the narrow-gauge railway with original steam locomotives or events on old crafts such as lace-making and carving. You can experience active cycling on the extensive cycle paths. Winter sports offer plenty of opportunities in the cold season, from cross-country skiing to downhill skiing, and not just in Bärenstein.
