Welkom in Paviljoen De Notelaer, een uniek verblijf in een historisch koepelgebouw waar je tot rust komt op het ritme van de rivier. Gebouwd in 1797 als zomerresidentie van de hertog d’Ursel, biedt deze plek vandaag een vertragende logeerervaring voor max. 6 gasten – met een mix van erfgoed, natuur en hedendaags comfort.
Welkom in Paviljoen De Notelaer. Dit unieke paviljoen werd tussen 1792 en 1797 gebouwd in opdracht van Wolfgang-Guillaume d’Ursel en zijn echtgenote Flore d’Arenberg, vlakbij de oude Notelaer waar de veerman al eeuwenlang reizigers overzette van de ene naar de andere oever van de Schelde.
De hertog en zijn vrouw werden meteen verliefd op deze plek en gaven de vermaarde Franse architect Charles de Wailly opdracht om hier hun zomerpaviljoen te bouwen.
Het elegante koepelgebouw was ooit een geliefde plek voor jachtpartijen, feesten en ontmoetingen van de adel. Die grandeur ontging ook de makers van de Prestigieuze Eén-reeks “Stille Waters” niet. Zij gebruikten het paviljoen als woning voor één van de hoofdpersonages.
Sinds 2017 beheert Stichting Kempens Landschap, samen met de gemeente Bornem, het gebouw en het park. In 2025 werd het paviljoen grondig gerestaureerd en herbestemd tot deze betoverende erfgoedlogie.
Hier logeren is de pracht en praal van vroeger beleven en tegelijkertijd genieten van het comfort van vandaag.
