Positive: The dinner and breakfast were based around produce from the owner's garden and pantry/preserves as well as fresh local ingredients, and the cooking and presentation were superb, prepared with a light touch. It was also lovely to be seated at a single long table and mingle with the other guests, who were a little shy with us at first but then were happy to talk. In a very scenic location, with steep hills, forest, streams all around. We escaped the heat and forest fires of lowlands Languedoc for these high hills and the pleasant temperatures in August. The gite is also close to lovely Livia; a special Spanish exclave within the French Pyrenees. In all, a very special place that we plan to return to.

Negative: Nothing really; if I had to find something, perhaps that the gite is at the top of a hill with narrow streets, so parking is a leetle difficult, and our room was the top floor; fine for most of the fit biker/walker guests, but could be more challenging for older people.

Summary: A magical gite with magnificent atmosphere and food, at an excellent price.
